ANA MEDICA

Reimagining Urine Monitoring: Introducing the AnaMedica Device

In every critical care unit, surgical recovery ward, or long-term care facility, one vital sign is consistently tracked yet often undervalued: urine output. It’s a window into fluid balance, kidney health, and early signs of infection, but the methods used to track it haven’t evolved with the rest of modern healthcare.

That’s where AnaMedica comes in.

We’ve built a smart, contactless urine monitoring system that replaces outdated manual processes with automated, intelligent, and nurse-friendly technology. Designed for seamless integration into real-world clinical workflows, AnaMedica brings precision, safety, and insight to one of the most fundamental yet neglected aspects of patient monitoring.

Our Exprience

What Is AnaMedica?

AnaMedica is a compact, sensor-based device that connects directly between a patient’s catheter and urine collection bag. Once installed, it continuously measures urine volume, flow rate, turbidity, and other key indicators, all without requiring manual input from nursing staff.

The device not only tracks data in real time, but also automates routine diagnostic steps like urinalysis and sterile sample collection, helping clinical teams act faster, reduce contamination risk, and offload repetitive manual work.

Key Capabilities at a Glance

Continuous Output Monitoring:

AnaMedica uses high-accuracy optical sensors to measure urine volume and flow, offering a live view of patient fluid status.

Turbidity Analysis with Nephelometry:

Through light-scattering technology, the system measures turbidity, an important early signal for infections, inflammation, or organ dysfunction.

Automated Urinalysis:

The device performs reagent-strip-based analysis on command, using machine vision for accurate and immediate interpretation.

Sterile Sample Collection:

With a sealed internal chamber, AnaMedica collects urine samples automatically, minimizing contact and ensuring higher sterility standards.

Data-Ready Design:

While the current prototype displays results locally, the system is being optimized for dashboard integration and future EMR compatibility.

Designed for Caregivers, Built for Real-World Use

We knew from the start that technology alone wasn’t enough, it had to work for the people using it. AnaMedica is designed to install in seconds, operate quietly in the background, and require minimal training. There’s no need for infrastructure changes, and the device is built with medical-grade, sterile-packaged materials for single or repeated use depending on the care environment.

For nurses, AnaMedica removes the need to empty bags or squint at measurements every hour. For clinicians, it provides richer, more reliable data to support critical decisions.

A Step Forward for Fluid Management

Urine monitoring plays a critical role in detecting acute kidney injury (AKI), sepsis, and postoperative complications. By adding intelligence and automation to this task, AnaMedica turns it from a burdensome chore into a reliable stream of diagnostic insight.

With AnaMedica, healthcare teams can move toward predictive care: responding to patient changes faster, with greater confidence and fewer errors.

Currently in Clinical Validation

AnaMedica is in the advanced prototype stage, currently undergoing hospital-based testing to validate safety, usability, and clinical impact. We are working closely with care teams to refine the device, and ensure it fits seamlessly into existing protocols.
